The filter compartment is accessed through a front facing door. Changing the filter is literally a �snap.� A spring loaded platform pushes up to hold the filter in place. To replace the filter, one simply presses down on the top until disengaged, then the old filter pulls out. The replacement filter then �snaps� back in. A new comes with a highly effective multi-layered carbon filter pre-installed. This filter contains multiple layers of activated carbon and carbon fiber and is more effective than any �store-bought� filters on the market with a particle removal capability of 1.0 micron. It also removes chlorine, heavy metals, and pesticides to the extent that activated carbon is capable of removing. The will also accept the Nexus Ultrafilter, which uses a tubular hollow fiber membrane to exclude particles down to 0.03 microns (see Ultrafilter Upgrade in the ordering information found below). The AlkaBlue DX can be used with any of our pre-filters which include carbon block and fluoride/arsenic.

It is extremely easy to install using a simple diverter valve that attaches to your faucet. (1) It is a breeze to use with its intuitive user-panel and voice assistance that announces each selection made to confirm the user’s choice. (2)

Operating your couldn't be simpler. There are only 3 control buttons that select the operational modes of alkaline, acidic, or filter-only (no ionization). The membrane panel also indicates the power level and lets you know when its time to change the filter. Power levels for either alkaline ionized water or acidic water are selected by pressing the �Alkaline� or �Acidic� button repeatedly until the desired strength is indicated. Once a power selection has been made, it will be retained for each use, until you change it. To further simplify operation, the has a voice prompter that will confirm each change of operation mode, allowing you to verify your selection.
